Suction Lysimeters

Suction Lysimeters are used to collect soil water or soil solution for analysis purposes. Suction Lysimeters can be used in mineral soils as well as in substrates without any problems.

Soil solution obtained with Suction Lysimeters can be analyzed for numerous questions: content and possible deep percolation of nutrients, salts and also pollutants in the soil solution.

Advantages

The analysis of the soil water allows conclusions to be drawn about the availability of nutrients and the salt concentration in the soil solution.

Concentration gradients of nutrients and salts in the soil can be traced using Suction Lysimeters installed at different depths in the soil.

Functionality

To remove soil water, a negative pressure is generated inside the suction lysimeter with a vacuum pump, and the penetrating soil water is then collected for analysis.
